What happens when two breweries follow the same recipe but use hops from different hemispheres? Thornbridge – Dotterel pale ale and
Squawk – Condor pale ale is what.
Pouring these exciting tipples and more all weekend in our Thornbridge & Squawk tap takeover.
Thronbridge and Squawk have each followed the same recipe, but used hops from different hemispheres to brew two delicious pale ales, in a battle royale of hops.
Squawk – Condor 5% pale ale (Northern hemisphere hops)
Thornbridge – Dotterel 5% pale ale (Southern hemisphere hops)

Thornbridge on Keg…
Necessary Evil – A lovingly crafted imperial stout, aged for 8 months in bourbon barrels. Aromas of sweet bourbon, vanilla and oak from the ageing process combine with rich chocolate, roasted malts and caramel from the base beer. Complexity and flavour unlike any other.
Seaforth – A British hopped IPA. Copper colour with a nose of fruits and berries, gentle maltiness in the mouth and a wonderful citrus, lemon pith bitterness
I do not seek I find – A big West Coast IPA brewed with Newtown Park. Grapefruit and citrus aromas with a hint of grassiness. Smooth and finished dry, with a light floral bite and stone fruit flavours on the palate.
And Cask…
Cocoa wonderland – Originally brewed with the amazing Cocoa Wonderland Chocolate Shop in Sheffield. A balanced roasty body bringing flavours of coffee & raisins, then huge chocolate notes!
Kipling – The first UK beer to use Nelson Sauvin hop from New Zealand. Heritage Maris Otter to allow the complex flavour of the hop to really shine. Grassy, grapefruit aroma, followed by passionfruit & mango. Balanced thirst-quenching bitterness.
Squawk on Keg…
Cursor pink lemonade – An awesome mix up of delicious raspberry sour and yummy Steep Soda Lemonade, fruitsome fizzy sessionable fun!
Toco – Full-bodied and juicy – this pale layers up dried mango, candied fruit and dank hoppy goodness. A balanced malty base with a touch of bitterness in the finish.
Malu – Dry-hopped with Citra, Amarillo and Mosaic, this wee beer brings a big, citrussy hop hit in a juicy little package.
And cask…
Pavo – Blossom and bubblegum on the nose, straw pale with a delicate mouthfeel and yellow fruit tang.
Aix – Burnt Chocolate and dried cherry on the nose. Dark ruby with a medium body, light chestnuts, toffee and toasted biscuits.
