– Sierra Nevada – Torpedo on keg, this Thursday
Don’t call it a comeback, they never really went away… well, unless you count all the years where we didn’t have it in, of course. But, regardless: Sierra Nevada is back on keg! At Port Street Beer House!
Thursday 2nd February, we’re pulling Sierra Nevada’s seminal TORPEDO. The original extra IPA, served exactly how god intended it: from a well kept cellar, on Port Street in Manchester’s historic Northern Quarter borders. Never had it before? Boy, you’re in for a treat – here’s all you need to know from Sierra themselves:
With Torpedo, it’s all about maximising every hop for the biggest, boldest flavor possible. So we push dry-hopping to its limits with the Hop Torpedo, our custom invention that’s shaped like its projectile namesake. Beer flows out of a fermenter, surges through the Hop Torpedo, and back into the tank for a supercharged IPA.
Malts
Caramelised malts, Two-row Pale
Hops

Yeast

Pouring all day: see you then.
– Siren – Curiosity, Candour, & Charm stout showcase, 27th January
We wanted something special to blow away the cobwebs of late January – and boy, have we got it. Siren rarely make anything that isn’t spectacular: but to make extra sure for their CCC series this year, they’ve brought in Garage Project, Cycle Brewing, and Omnipollo for three collab stouts: Curiosity, Candour, and Charm.
We’ll be pouring each of them on keg from January 27th, and we’ve also got cans of each for either drinking in or taking home. Yes please.
We’ll leave it to Siren to describe the rest, and we’ll see you at Port Street soon for a third of each –
–
CCC this year stands for Curiosity, Candour and Charm. Three magical, mythical and massive dark beers conjured up in collaboration with three of the most incredible dark beer brewers we could dream to work with – Garage Project (NZ), Cycle Brewing (USA) and Omnipollo (SWE).
These three beers are each unlike anything we’ve produced prior. Each features a different bean as a starting point (think Cocoa, Vanilla and Coffee) but then ventures into new territories of aroma, flavour and viscosity. We can’t wait to share these three stouts with you. It’s a one-of-a-kind dark beer experience that rounds out the year in style, please don’t miss out.
– The Proper Football Quiz – February 9th.
Not quite the business end of the season, but not far off it: we’re bringing The Proper Football Quiz back for the run in to steady the ship.
Expect to see someone in a Dukla Prague away shirt, at least one team chatting about the enduring legacy of Dr Jozef Venglos in the British game, and questions whose answers are always just on the tip of your tongue.
7.45pm kick off, as the television gods intended. No advance bookings (it gets busy, so please get here early to avoid disappointment), £2 in (you can pay on card), and maximum 5 a side (for obvious reasons).
