– Back open from April 12th
It has been a long time – but Port Street Beer House is coming back from April 12th. Pints, aren’t they great? Get them in, alongside all the usual thirds, halves, and whatever-other-size you fancy in our outdoor seating section – and you can even order a Nell’s Pizza from our sister site Common to eat in too.
Given we’re only allowed people in our outdoor bits (barrels at the back, tables at the front), we’re unable to accept reservations or bookings under any circumstance for the moment – all seating will be walk-ups only.
Port Street Beer House will be open:
From Monday 12th April
During the below times, Port Street Beer House will be for outdoor seating available, though we are unable to accept reservations under any circumstance. Alcohol will be available on all orders, and there will be no requirement for it to be served alongside a substantial meal.
Monday: 2pm—late
Tuesday: 2pm—late
Wednesday: 2pm—late
Thursday: 2pm—late
Friday: 2pm—late
Saturday: 2pm—late
Sunday: 2pm—late

Wild Horse Brew Co. in Llandudno. They do a cracking free delivery to North Wales. They are always releasing new beer that has been consistently pretty great.
Beer experience of 2020
Me and my bro went on the brewery tour at Cloudwater back in February just before the world turn upside down. Really interesting experience having a 10% porter handed to you before 12pm. The tour itself was very engaging and fun. At least I think it was, I was swaying a little on my way out.
Hopes and dreams for 2021?
Hoping I’ll actually be able to visit my local pub, get to know the locals and practice my Cymraeg. I don’t even mind what the beer is like, just be nice to be in a pub again.
What’s the next big thing for beer in 2021?
I think there might be a move to more traditional British styles (bitters, milds etc.) I’ve noticed more bitters from more trendy brewers recently. Plus this Brexit nonsense may make it more expensive to source certain hops. So this may cause a move to less hop forward styles. Or maybe Tiny Rebel will do a collaboration with Greggs and make a Steak-bake Stay Puft. Who knows!?

Breweries were all on it and it was easier and more tantalising to order beer online than ever before. Ultimately though, Heaton Hops, for being insanely on it in terms of sourcing the new hype and putting it all in one place with daily local deliveries and collection.
Beer experience of 2020
Drinking 5 litres of Five Points Railway Porter bag in box cask, courtesy of BlackJack’s delivery service, at home. Amazing beer and the ultimate dispense method of 2020 – BAG IN BOX.
Hopes and dreams for 2021?
Less hectic, less pivoting, less virus
What’s the next big thing for beer in 2021?
A mini keg that will fit in my small fridge. Maybe using the Muji t-shirt cube technology to fit 5 litres into a vessel the size of a jar of mayonnaise.

– Closed from Friday 23 October
In line with Tier 3 restrictions, we’ll be closing the doors at Port Street at 10pm on Thursday 22nd October, and keeping them shut for a little while. Despite Snyder’s Jalapeno Pieces being incredibly filling, and the ongoing debate over whether an imperial stout constitutes a substantial meal, our current offering falls on the pub side of the drinking establishment/eating establishment divide.
Our sister site Common will remain open, serving Nell’s Pizza and providing primo pints alongside pizza pies – and our friends in M21 over at The Beagle will be operating as a restaurant too.
There are no plans to revert to the takeaway/delivery services we offered over lockdown 1.0, but we hope to be able to welcome you back to the Beer House sooner rather than later. Follow us on Twitter & Instagram for the latest.
– Now serving: Natural Wines
New normal, new additions to our drinks menu – Low Intervention Wines are here, with a rotating cast of natural beauties specially selected for Port Street Beer House. Mostly available by the bottle (with some available by the glass too) here’s what we’ve recently got in house: download the Common & Co App to see what we’ve currently got on offer.
We love the wines from Alex Craighead, made in Jen’s hometown of Nelson, New Zealand. This is a blend of Viognier, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc, with the grapes spending time on skins and in amphora. Serious, yet sultry. Think stonefruit, peach blossom, passionfruit.
