– Meet The Brewer with The Kernel Brewery / Monday 25th November 2013
5.30pm doors – event starts at 6.15pm
SOLD OUT
It doesn’t seem possible that The Kernel only arrived on the UK beer scene in 2009, given its growth and the multitude of beers it has been offering since its inception. Head brewer Evin O’Riordain came to brewing via a visit to New York in 2007. Upon his return to London, he set about honing his brewing skills as a home brewer and then opened The Kernel on Maltby Street, surrounded by small production food purveyors.
The brown bottles with the simple label design became iconic. Fast forward three years, and the brewery had outgrown its original premises, necessitating a move into the Dockley Road Industrial Estate, along with some other neighbouring businesses. Saturday mornings at Kernel have become a must for beer enthusiasts, visitors and Londoners alike, to sip the beers at their source. We’re excited to announce that Kernel will be hosting out last Meet The Brewer of 2013!
What a great way to end an amazing year of Meet The Brewer events!
– Photos / Meet The Brewer with Harbour – Monday 28th October
Many thanks to everyone that came to Meet The Brewer with Harbour on Monday including Rhys and Eddie, braving the worst storm of the decade, to come all the way from Guilford. We had a great time, especially enjoying the Aji Limon Pale Ale made with yellow chillies, delicious. We wish them luck on their mission to get a bottling machine as they are currently bottling by hand!

– Meet The Brewer with De La Senne – Monday 30th September
Thanks to everyone that came to the De La Senne Meet The Brewer with Yvan De Baets. He gave us loads of background on the artwork used on the bottles inspired by everything from The Communist Manifesto to the Nativity, and we found out that the hops used are all from Continental Europe and the U.K, how very interesting! We had a great time, ate some brilliant vegan pate (made by our very own Jamie Hancock) and were very happy to spend time in the presence of a very humble and funny chap.
