– PSBH & Common Day Out (part one) / by John Paul Cassidy
Some of the more avid followers among you, may have noticed that last week, the lucky staff of both Port Street Beer House and our older, yet less grown up ‘sister bar’, Common, went on a bit of a staff jaunt to Thornbridge Brewery. – Hampers.
Here at Port Street we like to bring you great beers. It’s what we do best and essentially what we stand for. However there are times when we are not open, you may have prior arrangements or you fancy a night in, in-front of the telly. No need to fret, now you can take a bit of us home with you in the form of a hamper.
We have put together three different ones varying in price. These all come with a stamped glass and start at a measly £17.50 for 6 well selected, crafty beers.
Imagine a night in with one of these badboys, or as a gift to your old man/woman. Great stuff.
Hampers as follows;

The driving forces behind the brewery are Andy Baker (Managing Director) & James Farran (Head Brewer). Andy is a Newcastle University Environmental Science graduate & James a brewing & science nut who has been honing his skills for 9 years. They are both hop heads & malt mad, blending the worlds best ingredients to create the finest quality cask & bottled ales.

They believe creativity is a gift that should be explored, this means tradition isn’t always right & that things evolve including beer… SWB are in it for the long haul & plan some unusual stops along the way…
– Review : Sierra Nevada Torpedo / By DJ Adams
The start of Port Street Beer House’s American Beer Festival starting Mon 27th June, until the beer runs out, is clearly an ideal time to review Torpedo, an IPA from one of America’s most respected craft beer pioneers Sierra Nevada.
