– Ale Drawn From The Oak Part 2! Thursday 24 August at PSBH
The first one was such a smash, that we thought: yeah let’s hit it up again. Get it banked in the fridge and let’s get it lit babyyyy. Or something like that anyway. Pub Brown Ale, drawn from the oak, the way that god intended.
Here’s what Blackjack have been saying about the project:
These beers will be ready when we think they are ready. And we think these are ready to fly.
We are looking for the simple, raw and unadulterated effects of ageing in Fresh Oak. This isn’t a souring project. Do not expect Brett, Fruit, Coffee additions or what have you – we’re entirely looking for Cask Beer, served through a hand pull but aged in Oak Barrels and with that we’re after subtle woody tones and lighter levels of condition with the tanic presence of the wood offering a little drying edge and ideally, a touch of sherry like glory.
We’re on the balance quest here – for that perfect symbiotic relationship between wood character, classic ales and time. Then the beauty of serving Real Ale from a real cellar through real-deal hand pulls (avec Sparklers!)
This is tradition cask beer, in its traditional format.
We’ll see how this one goes, that’s the beauty of it – but the idea is to have a fresh oak launch every month or so – when we think its good to go!
Come down and sample the future/past with us from 5pm, Thursday 24th August
